In this 3-session class, participants will explore color through various mediums including ink, tempera, and acrylic paint and will gain confidence in understanding how to identify, create, and use color effectively.   Class minimum: 4 Class maximum: 10   About the Instructor: Christopher Shields is a painter and college professor who lives and works in Muskegon and Grand Rapids. A native to Michigan, He obtained his undergraduate degree from Kendall College and his graduated degree from Minneapolis College of Art & Design.  He has exhibited nationally and most recently took home a major prize for his work in 2023's ArtPrize competition. Class is $10 and students should arrive early for their first session to sign in and set up in the glass-encased lobby. Bring a water bottle (a water filling station is available onsite) and your mat and any props you may like, as they are not available onsite. Cindy Beth believes in creating a compassionate community of yogis across West Michigan, and aims to expand the Playhouse offerings into underserved populations. She utilizes yoga and creative movement, breathwork and conscious relaxation as important skills that are built into each session she offers. Her dream is to see the White Lake Yoga Community into a self-sustaining year-round entity, known widely for its inclusivity, quality, functional movement and deep, systematic rest. By offering mindfulness programming through the Playhouse, she aims to make yoga accessible to all bodies and all people of all backgrounds. They will learn how to draw patterns on their metal pieces employing the use of geometry, abstraction, or realistic drawings. Instructor, Casey Bemis will guide students through the use of patinas after the pieces are etched to give their jewelry a distinctive finish.   Class minimum: 4 Class maximum: 8   Pay What you Can Pricing: This class is supported by the ACWL-Nuveen Scholarship Fund. Much of the work is inspired by nature, geometry and science. Utilizing her undergraduate degree in painting, she draws directly on sheets of metal to be etched and then made into unique jewelry.
