Nested Ring

In this class, students will use plated wire to create a ring featuring a glass bead within a nest. Glass beads hand-blown by instructor Maribeth Morby will be provided.

Class minimum: 4

Class maximum: 6

About the Instructor:

Maribeth Morby, a Chicago-based artist, is an experienced jeweler and glass bead maker. Her work is featured in the ACWL-Nuveen gallery.

ACWL-Nuveen classes are supported in part by grants from the Michigan Arts & Culture Council, the National Endowment for the Arts and the Nuveen Benevolent Trust.

Pictured here are our AMAZING team captains! We did things a bit differently this year to help this event run even more efficient as it continues to grow. These four helped us make it happen and we are so grateful for their help!

—Tamara with White Lake Area Climate Action Council—Oversaw the “Trails” portion of the clean-up mission
—Sara with White Lake Association - West MI—Oversaw the “Shorelines & Waterways” potion of the clean-up mission

Another huge thank you to City of Montague and Jimmy’z Pub for helping to make Weathervane Lane in Montague another drop-off site for trash bashers and Jimmy’z for offering a raffle prize, The Gnarly Heifer for offering a free burger to anyone who got the barrel (and being there for people to order food), and WaterDog Outfitters for offering up free kayak rentals for those who were looking to help clean up the waterways.

Special thanks to Consumers Energy for sponsoring this event, the City of Whitehall DPW for allowing us to use a truck to gather heavier items (and Greg & Debi for gathering it all!), Knight Transfer for donating a refuse container for all the trash, and Walmart Supercenter Whitehall - Holton-Whitehall Rd for donating trash bags and granola bars!

This event wouldn’t be possible without all who volunteered! We can’t wait to share photos later this week.
