Students will pick their subject and learn different techniques on starting a journal. From prepping the base layer, markmaking, composition, color, painting techniques and mixing mediums. Students should bring 10-15 photos, copies or magazine cut outs of the subject/theme they want to put in their journal for reference. All other materials, including a watercolor journal students will be able to keep, will be provided. Registration is Required. She studied commercial art at Ferris State University and later studied art and design at Grand Valley State University. Students will be seated on either ends of the tables - 6 feet apart. If class has to be held inside, we will make sure students can be six feet apart. Class capacity will be limited to 6 students. Each student will have their own supplies that will be sanitized before class. Students should wear masks and abide by social distancing mandates. I Love Music! Family Concert

I LOVE MUSIC! PRE-K + Children learn basic elements of music (Beat, Rhythm, Melody, Harmony), in a fun and interactive environment including lots of movement, singing, clapping, and saying rhythms. Dan Duncan, presenter, is a 24-year veteran educator and performer who has worked with elementary children his entire career.

She is a Disney Cast Member alumni with diverse experience in all things theatre production. Allison loves educating children through self-expression and is excited to be apart of Nuveen Center programs! Painting outdoors encourages a fresh and spontaneous approach to capturing the natural scene. Learn the fundamentals of plein air painting with artist Lori Eslick - http://eslickart.com/. Students will be instructed on how to use watercolor paint to capture the views from the pavilion behind Montague Foods/on the Hart-Montague Bike Trail. This class is for beginning level students, but more advanced students are also welcomed! The class fee includes all materials. The ACWL-Nuveen will be setting up portable tables and chairs in the pavilion and nearby shaded areas to accommodate 10 students within the proper social distancing guidelines. Be sure to wear sunscreen and bring a hat to keep the sun out of your eyes. You can park in the gravel parking lot near the pavilion. We may return to the ACWL-Nuveen to complete the paintings. In case of rain, you will receive a phone call the morning of the class to let you know we will meet at the ACWL-Nuveen instead of the pavilion. Registration is required.
