Southern Traditions, Timeless Tastes:
Savannah’s culinary heritage is alive with stories of hospitality, community, and delicious food. This class celebrates this legacy with two beloved dishes that have deep roots in the region’s history: Crab Cakes and Red Rice.
Crab cakes have been a coastal favorite for generations, showcasing the bounty of fresh seafood found along Georgia’s shores. With influences from African American culinary traditions, these savory delights offer a glimpse into Savannah’s diverse cultural tapestry.
Red Rice, with its vibrant color and bold flavors, tells a story of Savannah’s past. Inspired by Spanish settlers and infused with African and Caribbean influences, this dish embodies the melting pot of cultures that define Lowcountry cuisine.
