• The 38th annual ACWL-Nuveen Free Summer Concert Series will be held on Tuesdays, June 11 - August 13 at 7:00pm. View full series here: https://www.artswhitelake.org/concerts
• Concerts are FREE to attend--donations will be collected during intermission.
• There will be free crafts for kids at each concert, thanks to the City of Montague.
• All concerts will be held at the Montague-Whitehall Rotary Band Shell (Rain location: Montague High School Center for the Arts, 4900 Stanton Blvd.)

Students will create their own 3D abstract sculpture - 12 inches or larger - using found materials, carboard, paper, and glue.   Class minimum: 4 Class maximum: 6   About the Instructor: Casey Bemis has lived in the Whitehall area for 13 years now, working in her studio in the quiet woods just a few miles from Lake Michigan. Much of the work is inspired by nature, geometry and science. Utilizing her undergraduate degree in painting, she draws directly on sheets of metal to be etched and then made into unique jewelry. She also paints and finds some time to work on several novels.   ACWL-Nuveen Summer Art Camps are supported by the Lothmann Family Fund of the Community Foundation for Muskegon County. In this class, participants will learn how to center clay on the wheel, shape it into various forms such as bowls, cups, and vases, and trim and finish their pieces. The class is designed for individuals with little to no experience in pottery, as well as those who have some basic knowledge and want to further develop their skills. Throughout the class, participants will receive guidance and instruction from an experienced pottery instructor, who will demonstrate techniques and provide individualized feedback. By the end of the class, participants will have gained a solid foundation in wheel throwing and will have created several functional and decorative pottery pieces.   Class fee includes instruction, multiple firings, glazes, and 25 lbs of clay per student.   This class will meet Wednesdays, June 12, 19, 26 & July 10, 17, & 24 at Terrestrial Forming Pottery Studio. Students will need to pick up their finished pieces following a final glaze firing that will happen AFTER the final class. Students will be notified when their pieces are ready for pick up.   Minimum: 4 Maximum: 5   Class Fee Assistance: If the price of this class is prohibitive, scholarship funds may be available. She loved the limitless dynamics of the art form, and it’s been her passion ever since. Recently,  she’s been apprenticing with Peter "The Potter" Johnson, the local master potter working at Terrestrial Forming in Whitehall. Slocum Street Whitehall, MI 49461). The class is held Thursday mornings from 10:00am-11:00am. These yoga classes are designed to focus on enhancing strength, mobility, and connection to self. This yoga offering will be held from 10 AM to 11 AM, $7 for area seniors or $9 for standard participants, and requires registration in advance via the VAC.
