Wade Rouse: 2023 Michigan Notable Books Author Tour

May 22, 2023, 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

White Lake Community Library will host Wade Rouse, bestselling author of 15 books, as part of the 2023 Michigan Notable Books Author Tour on Monday, May 22nd, at 6:30pm. A reception and book signing will precede the talk at 6pm. The Book Nook will be on hand with books for purchase. Registration is appreciated to plan for seating. This event is sponsored by the Library of Michigan, the Library of Michigan Foundation, Michigan Center for the Book, Michigan Humanities which is funded in part by the National Endowment for the Humanities, and the Friends of the White Lake Community Library.

Rouse, who also writes under the pen name Viola Shipman, will discuss his newest memoir Magic Season (Hanover Square Press). Heartfelt, hilarious and lovingly rendered, Magic Season is an unforgettable story of love, family, and forgiveness against the backdrop of America’s favorite pastime.

Rouse’s books have been selected multiple times as Must-Reads by NBC’s Today Show as well as Michigan Notable Books of the Year. He will publish two new novels in 2023 from HarperCollins/Graydon House, including a new summer novel, Famous in A Small Town (June 13), a funny, poignant story of an intergenerational friendship that is being compared to the work of Fannie Flagg, as well as a new Christmas novel, The Wishing Bridge (November 6).

A former journalist, magazine writer and People reporter, Rouse earned his B.A. from Drury University and his master’s in journalism from Northwestern University. He currently divides his time between Saugatuck, Michigan, and Palm Springs, California.
