Join artist MJ Ernst to create a cute felted heart using calico cottons, colorful felt and multicolor embroidery thread. This is a great class to learn 2 basic sewing stitches: the running stitch and the blanket stitch. Students will leave with a finished, handsewn felt heart with a hanging ribbon. Beginner sewers are welcome and all students will be able to take a needle and floss home to continue creating!

This is part 1 of a 3-part Saturdays with MJ Series. You can attend all three classes or pick and choose those that interest you! These classes will be held the second Saturday of each month, February – April.

About the Instructor:
Mary Jo (MJ) Ernst grew up in West Michigan and has been sketching her whole life. She owns and operates a custom dress shop in the Chicago area. She uses all types of mediums in her artwork. Ink, especially solubles, is her preferred choice for quick sketching. Her sketch style is whimsical and impressionistic. When visiting family in the West Michigan area you may see her out sketching local people and sites . MJ encourages anyone, all skill levels, to pick up a pen, pencil or brush to get started and make a mark!
