More about Summer’s Call: Did you hear it too? Summer is calling. Summer has magic all its own. But Michigan summers? Those are something else. Told in sweet lyrical vignettes, Summer’s Call captures that timeless Michigan summer feeling as it follows a family of four from sunrise to sunset. Summer in Michigan isn’t just a season, it’s a call that must be answered. Back matter includes an art activity that invites the reader to display their summer memories. Written and illustrated by local Michiganders.
About Amber Lynn Hellewell
Amber is a fun, creative and colorful homeschool mom to three spunky kids and artistic husband. 6 years ago they quit their jobs and sold most of their belongings to move to Michigan without ever visiting or knowing anyone there! The magic of Michigan was calling to them, and they completely feel in love with the beauty of the state and kindness and authenticity of Michiganders. Since that time, they have created a beautiful life there where they swim in the lakes, hike through the snow, eat lots of ice cream and pour through good books on a daily basis. When Amber isn’t working on future ideas for children’s books, she homeschools her children, creates exciting homeschool materials at: www.etsy.com/shop/HearthMagic and plans day trips around the beautiful small towns of West Michigan.
