Guitar majors and minors are a small but passionate group within the GVSU Music Department. To give you an overview of what their studies are like: guitar students at GV meet for Studio class each week where students will perform solo and chamber works for each other as well as receive coaching on those works, they receive weekly lessons, and they participate in Guitar Ensemble. As part of the Music Department they also take more general music courses throughout their time in school. The concert we are presenting tonight is a mix of solos, duos, trios, and one quartet that represent their studies throughout the semester. What you will see is students at various points in their playing, some just beginning, some wrapping up their studies. Our goal with this performance is to elevate our level of playing while presenting a wide variety of guitar music.
