White Lake Area Historical Society: 100 Years of the Historic Montague-Whitehall Depot @ Chamber of Commerce

Join the White Lake Area Historical Society for its September meeting as we celebrate 100 years of White Lake’s historic Montague-Whitehall Depot!

Built in 1926 by the Pere Marquette Railroad, the Montague-Whitehall Depot replaced separate railroad depots that once served Montague and Whitehall. Today, the historic building is home to the White Lake Area Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Bureau.

Chamber Executive Director Stephanie Ware and Office & Event Administrator Liv McCarthy will share a look back at the Depot’s century of history through historic photographs, newspaper articles, and records collected over the years. The presentation will follow the Depot from its early railroad days through preservation and restoration efforts, its transition into the home of the Chamber, and its continued role in the White Lake community today.

Attendees are also encouraged to share their own memories and pieces of Depot history!

The program is part of the White Lake Area Historical Society’s September meeting and will be hosted at the historic Montague-Whitehall Depot, today known as the White Lake Area Chamber & Visitors Bureau.
