Hike the Lights – Sunset-10PM

Hike the Lights is a free event, where we turn our ski trail lights on from sunset until 10pm, every night of the week. At Muskegon Luge we have over 4 miles of lighted ski/hiking trails ranging from beginner, accessible trails to intermediate with large hills. A headlamp might be helpful on longer, dark sections of trails. Dogs are welcome too! We love your four legged friends, and just ask that you keep them on a 6 ft. lead and pick up after them. *This is a lighted trail walk, not a “light show trail”. Lights turn off promptly at 10PM due to State Park rules.

Watercolor: Find Your Freedom of Expression

Is this you?

You tend to paint the same subject in the same style, with the same color palette, on the same size sheet. You don’t deviate from the path you have created.

But you’re not satisfied.

You know that watercolor is the perfect medium for spontaneity, experimentation, originality and creativity.

If you want to freshen up the way you approach your paintings, this one day workshop is for beginners and more advanced artists. We will move fast, we will try a few things, we will have a few accidents, we will have some fun and we may even adopt a new attitude for future work, no matter the medium.

Class minimum: 4

Class maximum: 8

Pay What you Can Pricing:

This class is supported by the ACWL-Nuveen Scholarship Fund. If you cannot afford the $125 class fee, you may still attend the class for $100 or $75. To see the other pricing options, click ‘more prices’ under Tickets. ACWL-Nuveen member discounts do not apply to scholarship prices.

About the Instructor:

John lives in suburban Chicago and teaches watercolor painting at the Evanston Art Center. He studied at the American Academy of Art and the Art institute of Chicago. He is a Muskegon native who specializes in landscapes inspired by Lake Michigan, the dunes, the swamps and forests found up and down the West Michigan shore.

ACWL-Nuveen classes are supported in part by CatchMark Technologies, Michigan Arts & Culture Council, the National Endowment for the Arts and the Nuveen Benevolent Trust.
