Etched Copper Jewelry Class

Students will learn the basics of etched copper jewelry and complete both earrings and pendants, creating a one-of-a-kind ensemble they can wear or give as a gift. They will learn how to draw patterns on their metal pieces employing the use of geometry, abstraction, or realistic drawings. Instructor, Casey Bemis will guide students through the use of patinas after the pieces are etched to give their jewelry a distinctive finish. Ages 16+.

This class is supported by the ACWL-Nuveen Scholarship Fund. If you cannot afford the class fee, you can attend the class for $40. To register with the reduced price, please enter the promo code Etched40 at checkout.

About the Instructor:
Casey Bemis has lived in the Whitehall area for over 10 years, working in her studio in the quiet woods just a few miles from Lake Michigan. Much of the work is inspired by nature, geometry and science. Utilizing her undergraduate degree in painting, she draws directly on sheets of metal to be etched and then made into unique jewelry. She also paints and finds some time to work on several novels.
