It may be hard for you to feel optimistic about the future right now. if you’ve lost a spouse, child, family member, or friend, you’ve probably found there are not many people who understand the deep hurt you feel. This can be a confusing time when you feel isolated and have many questions about things you’ve never faced before. GriefShare groups meet weekly to help you face these challenges and move toward rebuilding your life.

Protecting Your Identity–Workshop by HarborLight Credit Union

Stay a step ahead of online scams and fraud. Come to White Lake Community Library for a practical, easy-to-understand workshop designed for adults who want to safeguard their personal and financial information. A representative from HarborLight Credit Union will guide participants through today’s most common digital threats and share simple strategies for building a stronger online defense. This 30–40 minute workshop is offered once a month from January through March, 1-2pm beginning Wednesday, January 14. Light snacks will be provided. Come to one session or attend all three—each workshop offers valuable, up-to-date tips to help keep you safe online. Everyone is welcome, and no tech experience is required. Strengthen your digital confidence at the library!

Happy Hour at the MMA is the perfect excuse for a unique night out! Join us on the third Thursday of every month from 4:30 – 6:30 PM for an all-ages after-hours night at the Muskegon Museum of Art. There will be light snacks, punch, a cash bar, different themes, activities, and a lot of art to explore. Happy hours are free to attend and drop-in style.

Please join us for a community conversation about accessibility at the White Lake Community Library on Friday, January 16, at 12:30. We especially want to hear from community members with accessibility needs, as well as caregivers, advocates, and allies. Come share what’s working, what’s not, and what would make the library more accessible for you and others. Your voice matters, and we’re listening. Refreshments will be served and everyone is welcome to attend! Thanks to a grant from the American Library Association, we have funding dedicated to this work, and your input will directly shape how it’s used.
