Around the Great Lakes there are currently 43 area waterways listed on the International Joint Commission’s list of Great Lakes Areas of Concern (AOCs). So far only two have been delisted. But as of October 30th 2014, we are proud to announce that White Lake is officially the third to be delisted as an Area of Concern!
This effort took nearly 30 years of hard work from community members, and state and federal environmental partners to remove contamination from sediments, soils and surrounding groundwater hot spots, and restore natural habitats.
