Montague Wildcat Football game to honor military, veterans, and first responders.
The football game between the Montague Wildcats and Oakridge Eagles on Friday, September 6, will feature a “salute” to current and former duty military, veterans, police, fire, and first responders.
Gates open at 5:30pm, pregame “salute” begins at 6:00pm, and the football game kicks off at 7:00pm.
There will be interactive displays from various military branches and first responders will be available to the public beginning at 5:00pm. Fans of all ages can enjoy these displays throughout the night. There will also be a Quilt of Valor ceremony, patriot motorcycle parade, a POW/MIA remembrance ceremony that includes a moment of silence and the playing of Taps, funds raised for local veterans’ organizations, cheerleaders from both schools will knock out 22 push-ups to raise awareness for veteran suicide prevention, and the football team will participate in a special meet-and-greet before the game to thank all community heroes for their service.
All current and former military, police, fire, and emergency responders are granted free admission if they are in uniform or have representative dress of servitude.
