In this two-session class we will explore two ideas; the wonderful gifts of our fall landscape (the one hiding under the trees), and the paint medium gouache (the great paint with the funny name).

Many artists pursued the small, quiet moments in landscape in addition to the large grand scenes. These smaller scenes lend themselves well to gouache, a water-based paint that is much like watercolor, but opaque like acrylic. Let’s explore the small landscape, and discover this unique material. Appropriate for all levels, although some painting experience is helpful.

Students should bring inspiration photos from home or scenes/sketches from nature. You can email them to nuveen@artswhitelake.org before class if you’d like them printed!
