On Wednesday, April 22 at 11:00 AM, White Lake Community Library will host the presentation “Not Everyone is a Friend.” A representative from Safe Seniors, part of AgeWell Services of West Michigan, will explain how to recognize the warning signs of neglect, abuse, and financial exploitation and outline what steps to take if you or someone you know may be at risk.

Topics will include how to identify physical, emotional, and financial abuse, common scams targeting older adults, including romance scams, “grandchild” emergency scams, sweepstakes and lottery scams, and computer or tech support scams, tips for staying safe online, and when and where to report suspected abuse or fraud.
