Roger Brown

August 19, 2022, 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

What do Freddy Fender, Ringo Starr, Gerry Rafferty, and Stealer’s Wheel have in common? Roger Brown – an accomplished songwriter, soulful singer, and stellar finger style guitar player.
From the Blue Ridge mountains of North Carolina to Europe and back again, Roger has been singing, playing, and writing music virtually his entire life. While living in England, he was a founding member of the band Stealer’s Wheel (“Stuck In The Middle With You”) and was songwriter and Musical Director for Ringo Starr’s children’s release “Scouse The Mouse”.
Roger is a respected studio musician, vocalist and side man and has recorded and/or toured with Gerry Rafferty (“Baker Street”, “Right Down The Line”), Billy Connolly, Freddy Fender, Ringo Starr, and Link Wray. Fifteen of Roger’s original songs, which span the roots of American music from folk to country to blues, have been covered by other artists. He has toured extensively as a solo performer and bandleader and has appeared at numerous international music festivals.
Roger has recorded two solo CD’s, “Any Way You Please” and his most recent “Sometimes You’re Lucky”.
In recent years, Roger has been a member of the Midnight Cattle Callers, and The Wilenes, has toured with Americana songwriter/performer David Hardin, and worked primarily with his duo, Drive South with Mary Sue Wilkinson. Roger can also be seen performing solo, and with the Roger Brown Band. He is an entertaining and engaging artist with an easygoing and charming style.
