Join other White Lake area residents for a free community meal at 6pm on Thursday, September 28. This event is for any adult or teen interested in meeting other local folks and sharing a meal and friendly conversation. There is no agenda, no hot topic to be discussed. It’s just a chance to be face-to-face with people you might not otherwise meet in your usual daily routines. Registration is required and is capped at 75 attendees.
The library is hosting this program with the generous financial support of the Community Foundation for Muskegon County and with the help of the City of Whitehall and the Playhouse at White Lake. The catered event will be set up on Slocum Street beside the Playhouse, weather permitting. In the event of poor weather, the meal will be served in the Playhouse lobby.
This National Good Neighbor Day event is patterned after the many Longest Table events hosted in communities all over the country. The tables will be set up in one long row, and the meal will be served family style. There will be a few neighborly conversation starters on each table just in case the conversation lags.
