Jesse was 12 when he picked up guitar after his “Gumpy” bought his first 6 string. Jesse then began playing open mic nights with his mama at his side to gain him entry into the bars. In 2013 Jesse Ray formed Jesse Ray and The Carolina Catfish, a high energy rock n roll, blues, and rockabilly 2-piece band.
