Introduction to Colored Pencil Drawings

Learn to draw with colored pencils! This course will cover the basics of color theory and different techniques of layering and blending soft-core colored pencils like Prismacolor. The students will draw still life objects on different types of paper to practice how the colored pencil responds to the surface.

About the Instructor:

Tatsuki Hakoyama is a Japanese artist who works with a broad range of content and mediums, including painting, drawing, and papermaking. He received his bachelor’s degree from Central Michigan University, and his Master of Fine Arts in Painting from Kendall College of Art & Design of Ferris State University (KCAD) in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Aside from exhibiting his work in various solo and group exhibitions, he is an Assistant Professor of Studio Arts at KCAD. Hakoyama currently lives and works in Grand Rapids, Michigan. http://tatsukihakoyama.com/
