Join us for a FREE concert at White River Light Station! Bring your lawn chair and relax while listening to some great music performed by local artists. We are excited for our 2023 lineup and hope to see you there!  The Light Station will have extended hours until 8pm so visitors can explore the museum.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Ruth and Max Bloomquist

Following their passion for music for over 40 years, Ruth and Max perform their style of Acoustic Americana with roots in Folk, Bluegrass, and Country Music. Known for her songwriting as well as her striking alto voice, Ruth was a winner of Merlefest’s Chris Austin Songwriting Competition in 2003 with her Gospel offering, By The River. The pair’s all original 2010 release, Turn Back A Page, reached No. 5 on the Folk DJ Airplay Chart with 4 songs in the top 100 for that year. A Youtube video featuring Ruth’s signature song, Michigan Girl has been viewed over 390,000 times to date. In addition to concert and festival performances in Michigan and the MidWest and an annual tour in Florida, the pair has toured in Southern France nearly every year since 2008. A live CD was released in 2012 and a Christmas EP in 2015. The couple released their sixth full length CD, On A Canvas Painted Blue, in October 2017.
