On day one of this two-day class, students will take a photo walk in Covell Park, which is just behind the ACWL-Nuveen. You will learn the best focus choices, shutter speed and other settings. *Students should already have a basic understanding of their camera gear and a telephoto lens will be a big plus.* On day two, students should bring their own laptops and images from the first class. Students will learn how to advance your editing process and receive critique to further improve their photography.
This class will meet on Tuesday, May 10 and Thursday, May 12 from 4:30-6:30pm.
Minimum: 4

About the Instructor:
Denise McElrath first started exploring photography in a highschool yearbook class. She was then accepted into an after-school photography club where she learned how to use a 35mm film camera, develop film, and print in a darkroom. As an adult, her hobby grew into owning a portrait studio and teaching adult education classes.
COVID-19 Considerations:
All students must wear a mask when indoors, regardless of vaccination status.
ACWL-Nuveen classes are supported by the Nuveen Benevolent Trust, the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs, and the National Endowment for the Arts
