Join us at Fetch Brewing Company in Whitehall on June 23, 2022, at 6:00 pm for an educational workshop on Rain Barrels! Paint a rain barrel and take it home to use in your garden! We will be learning about water quality as well as some rain barrel education.
With each $60 ticket, participants will receive a 55-gal rain barrel with a converter kit, paints and brushes to use and a beer (or soda/kombucha). Muskegon Conservation District staff will present on how to build your rain barrel, as well as the effects of stormwater runoff and the importance of water quality.
Thank you to our partners Fetch Brewing Company, WLACAC, and Nuveen Arts Council of White Lake.
**Notes for at Home Installation**
Participants will need to have a gutter system on their house, tools will be provided to attach to the gutter system, a drill will be required. Participants may want to build their own base at home to sit the barrel on, the base must be sturdy enough to hold a barrel full of water. Participants may also want to add a screen to their barrel to prevent leaves and bugs from entering.
For any questions or to register please visit Muskegoncd.org/shop or call the MCD office at 231-828-5097. Limited to 20 participants. This workshop will be outside on Fetch’s patio. In case of rain, we will move into the backroom of Fetch. Paints will be provided in small cups, so participants can take the barrel home and paint if they choose!
