Lake Michigan Fabric Landscape-Learn the art of collage landscaping. You will amaze yourself at how easy it is to create a simple fabric landscape of the Lake Michigan Shoreline. Prepare to have fun! These make great gifts too!

Class Level: Beginner Ages: 10 to adult Instructor: Dr. Susan Kruszynski Susan’s Bio: Dr. Susan Kruszynski, current educator, master storyteller and fabric artist: A spring 2015 visit to an art shop ignited the growing embers for Susan’s current passion for collage landscaping. Susan, at age 11, began experimenting with fabrics to produce colorful artistic creations. Her teaching skills developed from earning a teaching degree with majors in speech and history, an MA in reading and a PhD in education. Retiring from 31 years of full-time teaching, she currently teaches part-time at MCC and has started the business Quilting Fabrics in Time.

White Lake in the 40s: A Historical Presentation and White Lake Reminiscences
A One Book, One Community event. Join us for an interesting presentation by the Oceana Historical Society about the World War II Prisoner of War (POW) camps that were located in our area. Then enjoy a panel discussion of local residents as they share their fascinating reminiscences about that time in our history.

Haunted Trail 2017
The ghosts and ghouls of the past are back for round 2 and they’ve brought a few friends. Tour the park at night and navigate your way through history’s gruesome and chilling legends, myths, and stories. With 10,000 years of horror, nothing is off the table during this two night event. Good luck making it through the dark on this trail where History get Haunted.
Dates: October 27th and 28th, 8:00pm-10:30pm (Doors open at 7:30pm.) Groups run every 15 minutes.
Admission: $15. Recommended for 13 and older. Parents must accompany under 13.
Travel along some of Michigan’s most beautiful scenic drives and experience the vibrant colors of the woods, dunes, and water on October 6, 13, and 20th through our 14th annual Depot to Depot, Muskegon County Fall Color Tour.
Drive or bike this self-guided touring route to visit historic sites, enjoy nature, and snap your picture taken in front of spectacular Lake Michigan. Pick up a map at either the Muskegon Visitors Bureau or White Lake Area Chamber.
Those who participate in this FREE event receive fine fall refreshments and discounts/coupons from area businesses. Stop at the designated sites during these four Saturdays, get your map stamped, turn it in at either depot, and you will be eligible to win excellent prizes!
Begin at either the Muskegon Union Depot (home of the Muskegon County Convention and Visitors Bureau) or the Train Depot (home of the White Lake Area Chamber of Commerce). Map to come!
