Pickleball-Monday and Fridays

Pickleball is a cross between badminton and tennis. It is played on a badminton sized court that is 20×44, compared to a tennis court which is 36×78 and has a tennis-like net that is 34″ high at center court. It is played with what looks to be an over-sized ping pong paddle. We have 3 pickleball courts laid out on the gym floor at the WLCC. This game can be played with 2 players, but most often is played with 4. Players of all skill levels are welcome, first-timers to advanced. This is an incredibly popular activity with Seniors as the smaller court size and whiffle ball are much easier on joints while still providing great exercise. We have nets, balls and paddles. Wear comfortable clothes and clean-soled gym shoes; join us and have fun!

This class meets Monday, Thursday and Friday. and is free; registration is not necessary. We have a morning and afternoon group.

Note: Class will not meet the following dates: 11/23/17-11/24/17, 12/25/17, 12/28/17-12/29/17, 1/1/18 and 5/28/18.

Monday & Friday Group Meets: September 8, 2017 through May 25, 2018 at 9AM-11AM

Weesies Bros Farms in Montague, MI has partnered with Pacer’s National Bullying Prevention Center and is excited to have had Spookley the Square Pumpkin at our farm since 2013!!

Spookley the Square Pumpkin tells the story of a square pumpkin who lives in a round pumpkin patch. Spookley initially faces ridicule from the other pumpkins for being different. Then, one night during a terrible storm, Spookley saves the other pumpkins and they learn that what makes you different is what makes you special. His story, available as both a book and DVD, delivers a message of tolerance and kindness in a fun format for kids. Bring your family to Weesies to hear Spookley’s message, and enjoy some fall family fun! Montague location only. $6 per person. All activities and pumpkin included. Kids 2 and under are free.
